our little glow worm, Mya Ellen

friday night (our last night in the hospital) or so we though, we opted to let the nursery take her and bring her to me for feedings.  They came and got her at midnight to weigh her and do some tests.  at 2:15am the nurse brought her back in and proceeded to tell me that her billy reuben went sky high and she had to be put on the light blankets as they call them.  she then started to tell me all the reasons why this happens and what could be going on with her body.  the whole time she was talking i was trying to interrupt her to tell her this is completely normal for my family.  we have a blood disorder and so the baby has a 50/50 chance she'll get it.  you can't truly test until 6 months after they are born but because i have it and my blood is still in her it causes her to become jaundice from high billy reuben.  once i was able to tell her that she was like oh my gosh, no wonder you didn't start freaking out when i brought you the baby, haha.
i thought this picture was so cute of her with her grandma.  she has to have a light blanket on her back and her tummy at all times and i think in this picture the cords make her look like she has alien legs.
i'm really surprised at how well she has handled the light blankets.  i'm sure they have to be annoying but she never cries and actually seems quit cozy, i think it's because they keep her warm.  she is like her momma and doesn't like to be cold.
trent calls this her stink face, it's so funny all the faces she pulls.  it's hard to tell but this picture shows how orange she is.
this is before she had to go on the light blankets.  she loves to keep her feet curled up and her arms above her head. this really shows how tiny she is. those are premie diapers and they are huge on her.

it looks like she has been out in the sun, her arms and face are still a little orange but her body and legs are a pretty normal pink color.  she was striking a post for her dad. (i think she'll have her daddy's legs)
doesn't she seem so tiny in trents arms.  i love this picture, happy fathers day!

we were scheduled to be discharged saturday at noon but because her billy reuben went high we have had to stay.  they test her blood every 12 hours and so far it's going down a point everytime.  i was discharged yesterday but they don't like the mothers to leave so we are rooming in.  basically the baby has a room and we are just staying with her.  the doc is going to come see her in a couple hours and hopefully we will get to go home today. i am SOOOOOO ready to go home!

OH I'm so sorry she's jaundice. Ruby and Hudson were. I hope she recovers quickly and so scary about the blood disorder but so glad you know so they can help her. She really is tiny. I can't imagine. I thought Finn was small at 6 10 she must be teeny. SO happy for you guys. she is just beautiful, perfect name, and that hair. Oh love it! Wish we lived closer so I could come see you guys hopefully sometime soon.

I love the name you guys picked! It's really cute. :) I hope you were able to go home yesterday. The hospital really isn't very comfortable or relaxing (to me anyway), it will be way nicer to be in the comfort of your own home. I hope you guys are doing well. Mya is just beautiful!!
