back to work

we took some time off from working on the house when mya was born, but after a couple weeks trent started working on the floor (i was so excited i thought it was finally going to get done).  well we had some crazy weather resulting in lots and lots of rain, which helped us to discover that a couple windows leak. for some reason houses here in texas don't have gutters.  we are pretty lucky because the front of our house has them but not the back.  so the saturday i thought the floor was going to get done, trent went off to home depot to get gutters.  he and his mom spent the entire day working on the gutters.

 this part wasn't so bad since trent was on the deck.

well we don't have a ladder tall enough and it's pretty dangerous to put up gutters with a ladder, so we rented scaffolding from home depot. i was nervous just taking the picture.  that's a long way down.

it was so hot (well it is the middle of july) that trent took his shirt off.  well trent can only be out in the sun for about 5 minutes before he burns and i wasn't out there to remind him or tell him to put sun screen on so his saturday in the sun resulted in this..........

 this picture doesn't even due it justice, his back is so burnt, i feel bad for him.  i guess i should have paid more attention and not let him be out there for so long without a shirt on. i think trent is going to pretend from now on that he is not handy, so he doesn't have to work so hard.
