a lot of hard work deserves some cheesecake

friday night trent and i worked vigorously on the floor trying to get the thin set up and got like 2 sf done in an hour. (that's about 2 tiles worth) yeah i wasn't about to do that again-so we opted to rent this INCREDIBLE machine. it was an electric hammer chisel. from where i am standing to the front door took trent just about an hour. i was amazed. i actually felt like we would get it done. while trent took a break to eat the lunch i brought him, i wanted to take my turn. it was so empowering to be able to do hard labor. i couldn't go as fast as trent but i did get a lot done (and have the blisters and thigh bruise to prove it) so he only had the little bathroom left to do.

see all the dust? now you can understand why i hung all the plastic. my house would be a dusty disaster if i hadn't.

this is when trent and i called it quits. we were covered in dust from head to toe literally. if you look closely at my eyelashes they are totally white and trent looks like he has a whole head of gray hair. and yes if you noticed those are homemade toilet paper ear plugs, yep we are awesome!

we have tried really hard to not give weenie as much human food because he has gotten REALLY fat. but, yesterday was a special occasion and i just couldn't leave him out. ever since we have been married trent and i have this valentine's tradition of cooking a meal at home. to me that's more special than going out for dinner and getting presents. (although i do like presents) so trent cooks dinner while i sit back and relax. it was the best day ever.

weenie finished his in record time.

trent surprised me this year and made a cheesecake from scratch. his mom has a really good recipe and he knows how much i love cheesecake. what a sweet guy.

i really like plain cheesecake so i just put a little bit of the topping on-plus i don't really care that much for cherry. valentine's day was a great relaxing day. we just watched the olympics, ate lots of dinner and almost the entire cheesecake and cuddled on the couch as a little family. i have come to really cherish those moments because soon enough those will be few and far between.

i couldn't help but take this picture. it was 11 at night and we decided to head for bed, but not before trent could make a "treat". i was thinking what? we just ate almost an entire cheesecake and you are going for more? he told me was going to have a sandwich with "good stuff" on it. what's "good stuff" you ask? miracle whip, yep trent wanted a sandwich with miracle whip on it because he never puts it on his sandwiches for lunch because it's unhealthy. i thought i was going to die laughing. and to top it all off it was 11pm. i had to document this because he will deny that he ever did anything this unhealthy. i am so grateful for such a wonderful guy! happy v-day t!

WOW! Considering technically you've only gained 1 pound I think you should've eaten the WHOLE Cheesecake YOURSELF!!! Nice work too!
