happy birthday trent and baby girl!

well our baby girl is here about a week and a half early.  wed i went in for my weekly check up and the ultra sound showed that my fluid was too low.  the doctor came right into the room and said ok emily we are going to get this baby born asap.  i totally thought she was kidding, i mean i wasn't even dilated to a one yet. but with the fluid being so low there was a chance i could have a still born and my doctor wasn't willing to risk that.  so she made me immediately go to the hospital.  i was feeling a million different emotions, but mostly scared for our little girl.  i called trent and told him to leave work right away and meet me at the hospital.  once i got admitted they put cervadil on my cervix and we were to wait 12 hours and then they would start me on petocin, well about 10 minutes after they put in the cervadil the baby's heart rate dropped extremely low and they rushed in and pulled it out and put me on oxygen and hooked up the iv.  the nurse told me that most likely i would have a c-section and that baby would be born that night. i was so upset because i didn't want a c-section but i would do whatever was best for the baby.  the doctor came and checked on me and the new game plan was to start me on a small dose of petocin and see how the baby reacted to that.  if the heart rate dropped again they would immediately take me in for a c-section.  if it stayed normal then they would up my dose of petocin every hour and let my body go into labor.  well thankfully the baby responded great and i was able to progress with the petocin.  around 2am the contractions were so intense and hurt really bad.  i felt like it was too early to get an epidural but about an hour later i was ready so i asked for the epidural.  around 4 the wonderful man came and within minutes i was able to fall asleep.  at ten the doctor told me i was ready to go, i was so excited and thought we would have a baby in no time.  i was so wrong, after 2 hours of pushing the doctor told me that during the next contraction she would use the suction and if i didn't push the baby out we were headed for the OR.  well needless to say i pushed with everything i had and out she came.  she was born at 12:08pm.  the coolest part is, is that it was also trents birthday.  so trent turned 30 and became a dad all in the same day. he says it's the best birthday of his life.
she hardly cried when she came out, but when they took her from me to really clean her and weigh her she whaled.  poor girl just wanted her mom.
opps forgot to flip the photo.  well she is just so tiny.  she only weighed in at 5lb 12 oz and has long black curly hair.  she gets the curly part from trent!
our wonderful doctor, i just love her!

daddy and daughter on their birthday!

Yay, you survived child birth! haha Sounds like it was a rough road. Good thing you didn't have to use the suction that's what we had to do with Kash and he still has a bump on his head! But your cute little girl has so much hair I bet you wouldn't even be able to see it! Keep the pictures coming. I'm so excited and happy for you! Motherhood is the best thing in the entire world. Congrats!!!
