Christmas

i was definitely not on the ball this year for taking pictures for the christmas card.  mya is very hard to get a good picture of and i guess i wasn't up for the fight.  this day was a disaster and why i never try to take family shots.  i didn't even get one of mya and i or of all 3 of us.

but when i let her snag a present from under the tree she was instantly happy and ready to take some shots

i love this shot.  we can get her to look at the camera but getting a smile out of her is next to impossible

christmas morning.  christmas is really nice right now because mya doesn't really get it so we got to wake up at her usual time of 8am.  i'm not really looking forward to the christmas' where the kids will get up at like 5 or 6.  i loved it when i was a kid but i understand now why my parents hated it.

 she loved the kitchen and didn't really care about opening any other presents.  we sort of had to force her.  she still gets excited to go in the play room and play with her kitchen.

 once we got her away from her kitchen she did enjoy helping unwrap the presents. 

 it took a few days for her to understand the play food wasn't real (not a real cookie she's trying to eat)

she got a lot of mickey mouse clubhouse stuff.  she is obsessed and loves all things mickey so her christmas was a success!

lucky for us church wasn't until 1, so we could take our time opening gifts.  after presents we had a nice breakfast followed by some more playing with the kitchen.  i have always loved christmas but it's so much better with kids.
